When old kratom tastes different (for me it gets a sweetish, candied taste), does this mean it's gone off or just that the chemistry has changed?

how old?,tea can be stored for month;s,as it is dried leaves,stored in a cool dry place,not unless it has been cut up with something? who is your venbdor? if you dont mind me asking?
